Keating Five Elephant: McCain Debate Ruse "Mission Diversion" (again)

The Keating Five Savings and Loan Scandal and John McCain... there's a pattern here, folks. Foolish campaign tactics make McCain look stupid.

Time Lord Elephant: Deliberate Distortions Distract from McCain's Record

Pretty clever strategy, selective reality when it comes to defining "what is true" in the moment. Since Barack Obama's positive reception overseas, McCain's damage-control teams have turned on the Republican weapon of mass confusion, initiating what I call their "timelord management©" program.

The highest lord manipulator, Dick Cheney has modeled this technique for years. Living firmly in the present tense, no matter what the topic, when hand caught in cookie jar, the Master Timelord grabs onto the here and now, with a foot stomp, brushing off accountability for what just happened, any other past events. The past is past so what?

Republicans "frame" the language, serve and spin to the other side. Then Democrats respond with a flutter of "rapid-response", pumping media-driven spin control back at 'em. Tied up in content when the whole game is process, the Dems strike a reasonable blow and wait. Moving on, the Timelord slams back, hits way over the line, then turns away, simply ignores the whistle and serves another slam. Even cable news and youtube can't stop McCain, the Lord Master Confusion of them all. He just keeps going, and going, a shark in water, energizer bunny of confusion, never stopping, no accountability, for what he just said, or didn't do, rewriting history along the way.

When confronted by others seeking the truth, a Timelord will look you in the eye, say nothing, send a "so what" message and babble off topic. A master move, the experienced Timelord flips a "what's your problem?" projecting all blame on the question, claiming victory every time.

Diabolically astute, taking a basic, cosmic principle of "living in the present", a formula for mental health, and working that principle to get out of past mistakes by never going there is the key to their success. A conscious choice in behavior, stealing time, stopping the clock allows McCain and his Republican high lords to change positions hourly, pull a "what's your problem" when caught in a dirty deed, deflecting all accountability in the process.

Talk amongst yourselves... it's good to be the scribe.

Speaker of the House Elephant: Nancy Pelosi for President

... the plot thickens in Washington politics, trusty hero Dennis Kucinich takes on Congressional leader's resistence to impeachment.

Boi-oi-oi-ng moment! Myself a working woman of the same generation as Speaker Pelosi, politically active, really-really for Hillary, suffering from a cracked skull, hitting the ceiling over and over (FYI: it ain't glass in my world... it's cement... they don't even see us technical, operations, HR or other middle managers) here it is... the one sure way to guarantee a Democratic sweep come November is for the Speaker to do exactly what she is doing.. stay cool, resist, and accept an order to impeach only if you are forced. Come to think of it, when Bush and Cheney choose to resign before they are impeached, when the people continue to demand truth returns to the front page, then a boomer woman becomes the first female President of the US of A!!!

Women need this moment... all of us still earning .77 cents on the dollar, working twice as hard as the guys (you know it), the big bulge at the bottom of the food chain, putting up with this for what? Women need this shot in the arm... that justice is served, the we are protected by our government, that our children learn the correct lessons. My God is smiling, and she has a terrific sense of play. No politics, no drama, just a women showing up on the clean up committee after the frat party. Hee!

Maybe, for just one "bright, shining moment" a woman leads as an honorable, interim President. And another great moment when President Obama takes his oath in 2009, as the torch is passed to a new generation of Americans, asking not what their country can do for them, but "Oh boy, what we can do for the planet!"

PARTY TO THE PEOPLE.

Predatory Profits Elephant: Drop in Home Values a Phony Real Estate Scheme

The American economy has been infected by a parasitic "quick kill" capitalism, now focused on yet another price-fixing path to profit. The truth is, the decrease in home values is also BS, a scheme by the real estate industry and bankers. How do I know this? turn on the tube and see for yourself. The latest "get rich quick" real estate scheme is making millions from foreclosures, hawked on infomercials daily.

What planet are you on?

DeFacto Racism GOP Elephant Driving Campaign Conversation

Today we learn more about Carl Rove and the Republican hate machine, playing on de facto racism, their underlying strategy should Obama be the candidate. But the really big elephant this week? When will the Dems take back the primary conversation? That's what voter's want to know. Appearing weak and out of touch, the Party leadership needs to re-focus this entire process away from the numbers and the lunatic fringe, get back to the excitement and potential of both candidates and the Party as a whole.

A well designed, high end candidate's debate in North Carolina, ala Lincoln-Douglas format, where both candidates get wonky on the issues, that is what we want to hear. On the frontline of economic challenges, lower wages, loss of benefits and job security, we the people are way ahead of the political-corporate-media class when it comes to this conversation. The huge turnouts and increase in voters this primary season, the twists and turns are not a fluke. Obviously, the voters still want both of them on the ticket, no matter what. This time the Dems can't afford to make the same mistakes, and drive voters away from the Party, burn us out with super delegate deals, mathmatical ga-ga, the either-or scenario. That's just pure ego on either candidate's part to deny this reality. If anything, these super delegates would be stone-stupid not to bring the two candidates together, in fact, they could do so right now. Obama and Clinton should start wrapping their heads around sharing the ticket as well, get used to the idea, because that is really what the voters want. Who cares who's at the top? We need a strong team and that's the real story.

To get out of the current economic and political mess that Carl Rove and the Neo cons have puppeted through Bush-Cheney, we need two giant heads working for the same goals, managed by a strong people's movement, and a Democratic Senate, House and Governorships. We must take this country back now, because the time is ripe. No matter who gets the top title, we want 'em both, no discussion. And, when the Party and media try to push this thing to an early conclusion, we'll show up in even larger numbers, just to keep all of you on the right path. We're not just here to donate to your campaigns this time around, we intend to keep on the Democratic winners in every office until the problems are fixed, too.

Best Test Elephant: "Just Say No"

Time to bring out the 'ol supply and demand, remind consumers just exactly who runs the show economically. Bamboozled by the lure of quick kill investments, the predatory market of the last eight years has literally knocked out the consumer... you know, the required element in any transaction, someone to buy all that crap.

My 911 conspiracy friends tell tales of government-released medications seeded in the jet streams, raining tranquility on the unwitting. How else to explain the lack of action on the part of the American consumer? There must be something in the water, else we would surely be in the streets, take on the status quo. What planet are we on?

Things that make you go hmmmmm:
The current economic downturn has displaced American workers in a big, big way. Families by the millions have depleted savings, finding less full-time work, lower wages, and a loss of health and pension benefits. Au contraire, the ownership society has seen profits grow annually, in the double digits, golden parachutes, fat cat perks, and much fun expanding, de-regulating, then buying up media like Pac-Man. Purely amusement at first, the "big brother" scenario really is alive and well, right here, right now, living under an assumed name, at Fox News- hi, Roger.

Staggering profits shoved in our faces, staggering profits, all at the expense of the consumer. Take my job away, corporate share values go up that day. Sold down the river by the abandonment of the fourth estate, a free press, where was the journalist when we needed you, throughout the mega merger of media via de-regulation of the rules? At the spa? Taking acting classes? In 2000 when corporations went to court just days before Nov, to overturn the equal time media restrictions that had stood for decency in news and both sides of the story, and they won that crucial battle, not a peep from the press. When equal opportunity gets thrown out the window and thousands of high end jobs reserved for H-1b only is the state of the state, where is the press today? When regulatory agencies designed to enforce the law and protect consumers lose budgets and staff, where are you now? The people think you're history, dudes.

Never forget the American public being sold hook, line, and banner ad... phony mortgages, inferior and opportunistic investment schemes; dishonest appraisals, manipulative brokers and real estate lenders; phony financial advisors, an overall corporate culture selling "shop, shop, shop" and "buy, buy, buy". I suggest that the klang of the spin shops, the fear mongering press, has churned deep, dark recesses in our salivating brains. Klang-eat, Klang-drive that hogcar, Klang-consume. Programmed we are, like rats on a track, we'll do anything for trickle-down crumbs.

Underemployment and the loss of upward mobility are the serious sickness here, bi-products of sodded corporate greed. Never measured, never mind, to assess "underemployment" and wages statistically would be too much to bear. These workers too tired to pay attention, are the "underemployed" scientists, engineers, educators, techs, mathematicians, entrepreneurs, the self-employed hanging by a thread. The hostility of a controlling oligarchy of fossil fuel barons far outclasses any capitalist swine before them. As they ready their napkins and forks to engorge us on the way down, maybe it's time for the working class to stand up and fight. Stop China from buying our country right out from under us, swallowing the debt these dogs have dumped on your kids, profiteering from a mercenary, corporate strategy, soldiers of fortune and death... and China holds the markers for debt they incur. We are screwed unless we as individuals, start working those atrophied muscles, wake up and smell the coffee.

New Rules: How to Take Back the Economy, Environment and Kill the War
OK, kids, want to really affect change in China and free Tibet? Without you buying their stuff, they go broke. Look at every label before you buy and if it's made in China, just say no- buy American and help a neighbor. Want to really affect gas prices, then car pool, take public trans when you can, just say no to the robber oil barons. Want to stop the war, really? Stop driving and ride a bike. Serious about climate change? China is also one of the biggest and fastest growing polluters in the world. Stop the demand for their goods, shut down the factories, stop the pollution, make 'em all go broke, really. We are the power, so start flexing.

Without a firm citizen/consumer stand against the ridiculous, with no free press covering our backs, we must take control as individuals. Turn off the tube and dump cable, support free TV, just say no to corporate ownership. Register to vote, don't throw your vote away this time, and just say no to the party of measurable failure. Time for the rugged individual, that fearless, pioneer, the sleeping giant of an American elephant, to just say no.

Consumers rule!

The Democratic Party's BIG Elephant: Be Careful What You Ask For

I'm having a love affair with the American voter. Before Ohio and Texas, Hillary was written off by the Party, the press, the pundits. Whenever Party leaders predict a final choice is close, another slam-dunk from the people. Not so fast, fellas... Large voter turn out, hands on commitment to historic change, the Voters are sending a clear message- this time, we are calling the shots. Taking back the "people's party" from the Party, every state deserves a voice in this historic choice, that is the other message.

Barack is certainly contributing to this unique, voter momentum, calling for the average person to get involved, to take back the government. But then again, so is Hillary. The voters are taking both candidates literally, calling for a historic, revolutionary ticket in response. Visualizing a "what if.." scenario, obviously, we want both candidates on the ticket, too; that is why the record-breaking voter turnout.

A coalition, "people's" ticket at the top is where we want to go, nothing less. Voters have had it with compromise, radically seeking the healthiest ego in the Presidential slot, the one willing to follow our lead, take our advice, walk your talk. Seeking a quick, abrupt change, the people are determined to win big, in a historic moment of change our way, with or without your blessing.

PARTY to the people!

Avoid the Draft Elephant: Bring Home the National Guard

"American Ports and Borders Now Patrolled by US National Guard" is the only headline that will help you sleep better, ever. It doesn't take a genius to see that this whole debacle regarding the security of the homeland is because the Bush team is using the national guard overseas, avoiding civilian conscription for political reasons, at the expense of the Guard and its mission at home. Deploying the Guard instead of a national draft after 9/11, a just cause, equals no draft, no-hate the status quo, Republicans stay in power.

Only those who "choose" the military life voluntarily are touched personally. If you do not have a family member or a friend in the military, you may be totally unplugged from what this is doing to the Guard.

Loose borders, loose contracts, loose lips, no brains. I am a snob about this, and proud of it. This administration has taken the true mission of the National Guard forces, homeland security, shipped them to Iraq, never got it together once we hit Baghdad and never have held control of liberated areas. Insufficient troops, not enough body armor, victories measured in body counts... deja vu all over again. Americans need to engage this problem on a national, civilian, personal level. If we are to "win", stop the native violence there, we need thousands of troops to overpower the insurgency physically, hold the territory, no question. We need cops and governors and healthcare workers, frontline managers, factory hands, technicians, everyone in this country to get this mismanged disaster under control and stop the "waste". It is our duty, the price we must pay because of Bush.

Our dads and grandpa's, jumped off the assembly line in their prime time, most of them volunteering to defend America after the unprovoked attack by the Japanese. It was Pearl Harbor that brought all Americans to attention and the seriousness of war and personal sacrifice. Regular families, everyone involved, sacrificing. Americans were willing to die to protect our country then, never imagining the nightmare of international terrorism their children would face. They are our hard-fought lesson of a just war. Moms, pops, brothers and sisters in a common cause- defending our land, our people, our democracy.

Outsource Elephant: What planet are we on?

None of what we are hearing from the Bush administration today makes any sense at all and gives me the whirlies. My brain is worn thin from trying to make rational sense out of ANY foreign security contracts being awarded since 9/11. What the heck does it take for these guys to pay attention?

Sometimes I feel like I have been abducted by aliens, set down in a parallel universe. Since 1989 (the dawn of "alternative" band Nirvana), I have felt completely disconnected with the way the world has taken a weird, hard turn. It all starts with the arts, the music, the cutting edge. I knew the minute I heard Nirvana on the radio, off-key and awful- and to think of them getting paid and coveted radio play? (ouch) Specifically, I had an epiphany, what I call "Smells like..." moment, America knows as the debut of Nirvana and the paid-for, media placement of alternative bands. Had we been abducted by some wierd alien force, taking us to the darkside, and "paid-for placed media", not the fans, deciding what "is" good music?? I digress....

Today, I am left speechless when it comes to the UAE contract for port security and just want to go crazy "pimping" these guys (One of my favorite "whack" expressions? George Bush is the anti-christ. I just wish he'd stop meeting criteria for this distinction every day, ya know?) You see, I am Irish Catholic, majorly confused and if there is one thing I believe after living a few years? my God has a HUGE sense of humor and this must be some kind of a joke.

Or else, just in case the outpatients are right...
See ya in church. (whew)
